E-Motion Movement Community: Los Angeles

You’re Invited

E-Motion is a ten-week movement-based community for anyone who has experienced the life- disrupting loss of a child in the Los Angeles area. Once per week, members will come together for a walk and will be led through intentional grief practices that invite us to move with the hardest things, as opposed to moving on from them. The group will provide community where otherwise there is often isolation. At the end of the experience, participants will participate in a culminating 5k walk together. The experience will be led by Courtney Collier, a trained E-Motion Facilitator.

The Details

  • Duration: Sunday, June 9 - Sunday, August 11

  • Day and Time: Every Sunday morning. The exact time to be determined.

  • Location: All meet-ups will take place at the beach. Please reach out for the exact location.

  • Culminating Event: Participate in the 5k walking event at the end of the experience. Friends and family are welcome to come support you.

What To Expect

The experience combines three core aspects that participants move through together over the duration of the experience: a weekly email, a weekly group walk, and a culminating 5k walk that the group completes together.

  • Weekly Email: Every week, participants receive a weekly email including a grief ritual & reflections, solo training walk/run for that week, and a poem.

  • Weekly Meet-Up: Every week, participants meet in person for a group walk, which starts with the E-motion Opening Circle Rituals and a facilitated grief-informed conversation.

  • Culminating Movement Experience: At the end of the experience, the participants complete a 5k culminating walk together.
