our mission

our story

E-Motion was founded by Myra Sack, whose life changed when her older daughter, Havi, was diagnosed with a fatal neurodegenerative disease in December, 2019. Havi died on January 20, 2021 of Tay-Sachs disease. Blending bereavement-science, spirituality and sport, E-Motion evolved out of a new way of living with the most difficult reality.

our mission

E-Motion ensures all people have access to the power of community, movement, and ritual to enhance coping
and build resilience.

our vision

We imagine a world where community is a right for grieving people; where people worldwide have access to E-Motion’s community of support when someone experiences a life-disrupting loss. We define community as a group of people who can show up, share pain, and move together.

our pillars

There is no time when movement is needed more than when we are confronted with challenges in our life. Moving is not a way to move from the hardest things, but a way to move with them.

While each person’s journey is highly individual, connecting with people who make you feel good can be life-sustaining. Research shows that social support helps with proactive coping and mitigates the intensity and duration of psychological distress and poor physiological outcomes.

Rituals create intentional space for remembering and honoring loss. They enable us to face and feel what is real—both the lowest lows and the highest highs — to inhabit the full sweep of human emotion.
