The 2024 E-Motion Movement Community Facilitator Training

Tuesday, December 3 and Thursday, December 5 from 5-6:30 pm PST / 8-9:30pm EST

Bring a Movement Community to your hometown or organization! The Movement Community Model depends on community leaders, practitioners, grieving people, and clinicians to learn the model and adapt it to meet their own community’s needs.

WHAT IS A MOVEMENT COMMUNITY?

Movement Communities are a community-led, therapeutic experience for anyone who has experienced life-disrupting loss. Key components of Movement Communities are:

  • In-person: Each community group consists of about 6-12 grievers who meet together in person

  • Movement-based: E-Motion combines movement (walking, jogging, etc) with gently guided grief reflections to enhance coping capacity and connection. The type and intensity of the movement is 100% determined by the group.

  • Community-led: All group activities are organized and facilitated by a local community member who has been trained in E-Motion’s approach.

INTERESTED IN LAUNCHING AND LEADING A MOVEMENT COMMUNITY?

Join us for our free virtual Movement Community Facilitator Training. The training is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of grief-conscious care while learning an innovative approach to supporting grieving people. As a Movement Community Facilitator, you play an active role in our mission to ensure that no one grieves alone.

The training is delivered in two sessions and you must attend both. Participants who complete the full training will gain access to the E-Motion digital Movement Community Guide and Discussion Board.

Whether you’ve experienced a life-disrupting loss, or you are a clinician supporting grievers, or are a leader at an organization eager to bring grief-informed practices to your team, this training will provide you practical tools, language, and knowledge for starting and sustaining Movement Communities wherever you are.

Together, we’ll explore E-Motion’s philosophy, gain facilitation skills, and build a strong network of facilitators committed to moving with our grief and creating grief-conscious communities so no one has to grieve alone.

E-Motion is grateful that Lisa Keefauver, MSW, author of “Grief is a Sneaky Bitch”, and grief activist, will serve as our keynote speaker and kick off our experience. Lisa’s wisdom on the topic of grief and loss are rooted in the decades she spent as a social worker, narrative therapist, non-profit co-founder, clinical supervisor and more!
